Some examples for your day hikes:

Panoramic walk on the North Balcony

This suspended route between the Plan de l'Aiguille intermediate station (accessible via the Aiguille du Midi) and the Montenvers – Mer de Glace site offers an exceptional atmosphere. Easily reached by ski lift, it does not require great physical fitness, even if it does include some slightly technical passages.
This is one of the most beautiful routes in the Alps, no less! In high season, you probably won't be alone, but to avoid the crowds, try it at sunset. Be careful: there are no more lifts at this time, so plan for a partly night-time descent, and a headlamp is a must.
The little extra: Take a detour via the Signal Forbes to admire some legendary mountaineering peaks, such as the Drus, the Grandes Jorasses, and of course the Mer de Glace.

The Chailloux chalets

Easily accessible from the Merlet Animal Park, this hike takes you gently uphill for about 500 meters on a pleasant trail. Upon arrival, you'll find yourself in an open mountain pasture with one of the most beautiful views of the Mont Blanc massif. Perfect for a high-altitude picnic! You can also combine this walk with a visit to the Merlet Park to observe the local wildlife.

Mont Buet (3096 m)

A real challenge for experienced hikers! Formerly nicknamed the “Mont Blanc des Dames” (an expression from another era), this summit is a more accessible alternative to its big brother, while remaining demanding.
The classic start is in the hamlet of Buet, just before Vallorcine. The route passes through the magnificent Bérard valley and its refuge, before tackling the final climb.
Please note: The summit offers an incredible panorama... and an almost lunar setting!
