Visit to the Aiguille du Midi (approximately 3 hours).
Meet at the Place de l'Aiguille du Midi to board one of the highest cable cars in Europe for the Aiguille du Midi, almost 3000m higher! From there, your guide will take you on a tour of the galleries and terraces that make up the Aiguille du Midi, giving you time to soak up the magic of the High Mountains and its glaciers. Mont Blanc seems so close! At the end of the tour, you will learn all about the history of the place and how people conquered their dreams here.
Visit to Montenvers - Mer de Glace (approximately 3 hours)
From the Place de la Mer de Glace in Chamonix, you will board this rack railway, over 70 years old, to reach Montenvers, “the upside-down mountain,” where alpine tourism began. Your guide will tell you the history of mountaineering, the largest glacier in the French Alps, and of course the role of glaciers and Alpine landscapes for humans and ecosystems. With all this information, you will fully enjoy the visit to the ice cave, in the bowels of the glacier. A great atmosphere guaranteed!

In summer, it is possible (but not obligatory) to make the connection between these two sites by a magnificent hike of around 2.5 hours.

If you decide to combine these two visits in one day, you can then take a break at midday for your meal in Chamonix, or in a mountain restaurant or a picnic.

If one of these sites should be closed, a mountain hike will be offered to you instead.
